Fintrano meets FreeAgent

We think we're going to get along.

Two companies with a similar way of looking at things.

We're pleased to announce that Fintrano now integrates with FreeAgent, the popular accounting software for freelancers and small businesses. It's an integration we're particularly pleased about, because we think the two companies have quite a lot in common.

FreeAgent was founded in 2007 by three freelancers who were thoroughly fed up with the amount of time they spent on bookkeeping. They believed that running a small business shouldn't mean spending your evenings wrestling with spreadsheets and accounts, so they set about making the whole process simpler.

That's a philosophy we can identify with. Fintrano started with an emergency plumber who was on his way, but couldn't say when he'd arrive. It seemed absurd that you could track a pizza delivery to your door, but had no idea when someone was coming to fix your home. We thought there must be a better way, and Fintrano was born.

Making the complicated feel simple

Although we're tackling different problems, we're coming at them from much the same direction. FreeAgent makes it easy for ordinary business owners to keep on top of their finances without becoming accountants. Fintrano makes it easy for tradespeople and service businesses to organise their work and deliver a brilliant customer experience, without complicated job management software or an office full of administrators.

Both systems are designed to take the hassle out of running a small business, leaving you free to concentrate on what you're actually good at. And now they work together, too.

One less job at the end of the day

With Fintrano, you can keep track of the work you're doing, create an accurate invoice directly from the job and have it appear automatically in FreeAgent. There's no need to enter everything twice, or spend your evenings trying to remember exactly what you did on Tuesday afternoon. It's particularly useful if you have a team, because the work they've completed is already recorded against the job.

FreeAgent can then take care of the accounting, while Fintrano looks after your diary, your jobs and your customers. It's a nice combination of two systems doing what they're good at, without making more work for you.

We suspect that people who appreciate FreeAgent's refreshingly straightforward approach to accounting will feel right at home with Fintrano. After all, we both believe that running a small business is quite complicated enough without your software making it harder.
