Keep track of every part of a job
Every job is made up of work that needs to be done, and Fintrano lets you keep track of each individual item so that everybody knows exactly what needs doing.
Work items describe the individual pieces of work required on a job. Using the Fintrano app, they can be marked as complete as the work is carried out, so everyone in the company can see what has been done and what is still outstanding. There’s no need to call the office or ask somebody else for an update – the current status of the work is there for everyone to see.
Work items also keep the whole process joined up. If you need to create an invoice, the work items can become the line items on the invoice, so there’s no need to type everything out again. The work you invoice for accurately reflects the work that was carried out.
Everyone can see what needs doing, what’s been done and what’s still outstanding, without having to ask.
They’re also an important part of quotes. A quote is made up of the work items you are proposing to carry out and their costs. When your customer accepts the quote and you schedule the job, those agreed work items are already attached to it. Everyone knows exactly what has been agreed with the customer and what needs to be done.
Just like the rest of Fintrano, work items mean entering information once and using it throughout the whole process – from quote, to job, to completion and finally invoice. You don't have to use them, but if you do it can save time, reduce mistakes and make sure everybody is always working from the right information.
