Running the business you never dreamed of?

Here’s the help you deserve

Have you heard of Worktree? They are a brilliant Milton Keynes-based charity which specialises in providing schoolchildren with some insight into the world of work.

Running regular sessions, both online and in person, they give children the opportunity to speak to people in a variety of jobs. Questions often cover how we got our jobs, what qualifications we needed, what a typical day looks like, and how much we enjoy the jobs that we spend so much of our lives working in.

As volunteers, we are often asked the following question by the facilitator: "Are you doing the job you wanted when you were at school?"

In 90% of cases, the answer is "No."

I was thinking about that when I was looking through Fintrano's customer list; often the company is administered by the partner of the person doing the paid work. It makes sense - administrators cost money - but it made me wonder: when they were children, did those people dream of running an electrician / plumbing / pressure washing business?

I bet, in most cases, the answer is "No" - and not just because nearly all of us end up in jobs we wouldn't have picked at school! If you're administering a trade business in addition to all the other work life throws at you, you could probably use some help. Which is exactly where Fintrano comes in.

By acting like a smart diary, Fintrano takes care of most, and maybe all, of the customer communication from the moment the job is booked, to the moment it is complete. Confirmations, reminders, live tracking; these things reduce the workload of the administrator, allowing them to concentrate on more valuable tasks.

And at the end, Fintrano will ask your customer for a review at the perfect time, if it knows they are delighted with the job. So your delighted customers bring you more work.

If it sounds like Fintrano would help somebody you know, feel free to share it with them. They can sign up for free today; everybody gets a £20 credit so that they can try it for a month with no obligation.

Your delighted customers bring you more work.

Even if it's not the job they dreamed of, we'd love the opportunity to help them with the one they have.
